Default Clutch Problem 200 exc please help the new guy

I did a little searching and had no luck.

I am sure the search Nazi's will post me a link (which would be great if someone can)

I have a 98 ktm 200 exc and the guy told me the clutch was bad, so I ordered a new clutch and heavy duty springs.

The guy said the reason the old clutch went out was a seal went out somewhere right near the front of the front sprocket, he is a buddy, and I know he doesn't always know what he is talking about so I don't know if there is truth behind it.

Anyone know what he is talking about? and if so what part I need to order so when I replace the clutch this wont happen again

or should I just replace it and see how it goes?

He pointed at where the red circle is and then here is a pic of my older bike:
