KTM 620 rxc won't start!! Need coil specs!!
Can anyone out there help me!!! I've got a 95 KTM 620 rxc with only 1500miles on her and I can't get her to start worth a dang!! I bought the bike with a cracked head--baby overheated/overrevved, I've replaced the head with one off a 98 620 rxc. I also dumped the edlebrock carb and installed a FCR 39 mx running a JD jetting kit--jetted per his recommendations. I've got a very weak spark, I've tested the stator and all the res. values check out good. I would like to test the coil/cdi unit, but for the life of me--I can't find anyone who knows the values or which wires are to what???? I've got the red SEM unit with red/orange/green/black wires--can someone tell me how to test out this coil????
She's got excellent compression, and one time I was able to get her to fire using starting fluid, and she ran real good till the fuel ran out of the float bowl, about 15 seconds---didn't have tank on--doouugghhh!!
Also, James recommended I run: 168 main, 72 pilot, 45 air, red needle in the 4th or 5th clip--does that sound about right for 4500ft elevation, desert climate, modified exhaust and airbox??
I understand that the stock SEM stator barely makes enough current to get the bike to fire at the low rpm at kick starting--Does anyone know where I can get an updated, higher wattage stator or stator/cdi/coil combo or any mods that can be done??? I'm not having any luck on the net so far!!!
Maybe even a place that can rewind the stator or mod to a lightning coil???
I don't want to give up on the old girl and have to part her out, please help save her!!!!
Thanks
