Default Problems with the batt of my new 990 Adventure. Anyone had the same problem?

Dear all,

I have a KTM 990 Adventure with 8 months, and I am having problems with the battery. In fact, for several times I found the battery uncharged when I tried to start the engine, even though just a few days after the last ride.

In the Lisbon KTM workshop, they argued that it could be related with my underground garage and that I should put pieces of rubber under steel parts in order to avoid battery losses.

Did anyone felt similar problems?
Thanks

Hi Simões.

I had a similar issue on my 640. It was a Yuasa stock battery.
There was probably something draining it, maybe the computer in
the speedometer (?).

I went the cheap route and bought one of these.
It stays plugged in when I am not riding the bike.

Default Adventure battery problems

I have a 2007 Adventure with the same problem the battery draining if i haven't used the bike for a few days. Does anybody know of a solution before I buy a new and overpriced replacement?

Default Adventure battery issues

Surely this is a manufacturing problem? I want to find the actual problem and then I can solve it because when your in the middle of Australia doing a trip through the outback or doing a simple camping holiday where do you get the power source from?
We don't all do day rides!

Thumbs up + 1 BajaDog

These bikes discharge as they sit, they have a clock that runs while they sit as well. Battery tender all the time or at least overnight before a ride, cold doesn't help either. Take a look at the Shorai battery.

A simple solution is a tender on it always, but I've heard just hitting the KILL SWITCH when letting it sit,,works,, it somehow stops the drain of the battery,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
