Best RPMs for Shifting on Adventure 990
I just got a deal on a new '08 Adventure 990. Nothing in the manual provides optimum rpms for upshifting, downshifting, etc. Currently I'm going by sound and feel when upshifting. The bike seems very comfortable at around 3500 rpms when cruising, though going slow in a subdivision or in town 2500 to 3000 seem fine. Shifting at 4000 works for moderate acceleration.
Anyway, is there any kind of chart or graph on the optimum torque band on the 990 Adventure? I'm old enough to just enjoy the backroads and to jump the ditch occaisionally and take a logging road or something like that. I've had my days for fast driving. Now I just want to see where I'm going and to enjoy it. Any information out there?
Thanks,
