If you have the riveted can type muffler, the only thing you can do is to pull it and soak the crap out of the lower end with carb cleaner and fill the gaps with high temp RTV. Y ou could also drill more 1/8 inch holes around the can and pop rivet the lower plate to the can. If it is comming out the tail pipe I would question your mix of gas/oil. I use MC-1 @ 50=1 and pump gas, @92 octane here in colorado. Have since my " 89 250 EXC was new, and Shell rotella full syn in the clutch case.

if its leaking that much you will more than likely have to change the muffler packing have you done that recently? also as said previously with the rivets make sure the new ones fit nice and tight with no movement and also before putting the rivets in put a nice film of high temp silicone in both ends to seal it good just make sure you give it time to cure before firing it up. your bike will sound alot more crisp with fresh packing too
