Hello
I am rebuilding the engine on my sons KTM 85SX. I recently purchased this bike with a blown up engine so it’s a complete rebuild which is going well. The engine has been badly bodged so I am not sure if some of the parts are in the right place. I am stuck on the clutch cylinder which bolts to the left side of the engine. One thing for sure the cylinder is damaged and needs replacing but I could do with knowing if there should be a ball bearing inside the piston of the cylinder or not. I am asking this because when I took the engine apart the push rod for the clutch had no ball bearing between it and the pressure plate. I know there should be one there as I have a diagram for it. I wondered if the last person who took the engine apart wrongly placed the ball bearing inside the output cylinder plunger or if the output cylinder plunger also is meant to have a ball bearing fitted.
I have published a web page with the photos on below.
Thanks for your help with this. Bill
