Default 2009 450 XCW Desert Race Setup

Hello All,

I am planning to competing in my first desert race the Transwest Ford Henderson 250 and wanted to reach out to the community for any bike setup tips.

The bike is basically stock with the exception of a few items. FMF muffler with spark arrester, Flex Levers, SCAR Foot pegs, Electric fan kit, skid plate, shark fin for rear brake rotor, and steering damper.

I would really appreciate any and all advice anyone could provide not only for the bike setup but rider as well. Gearing? Over sized tank? Headlight? Of course if there is any additional information you need from me just ask.

I live in Colorado so I'm currently jetted for 5-9 thousand feet. May have to change that up a bit for Nevada.

I think suspension wise I'm good to go with the stock springs. I weigh about 160-165 with gear. I could be wrong. I plan on doing some testing before hand to make sure.
