KTM 690 exhaust ring cracking?

I have a 2008 690 smc and when I was changing the standard boat anchor muffler to an Akrapovic I notced the welds on the header pipe have cracked. Has anyone else found this?

Have also had the speedo replaced under warrenty as it started fogging up at 1200kms.

Great bike now that it has loosened up in the engine and gearbox. took a lot of messing around to get it to handle nicely - no internal or spring changes, just setting up the clickers - it all seems to be very sensitive compared to the EXC's I've owned.
