Default Travel at 50kph without racing engine!?

When travelling at 50-60 kph, I find it hard to get the engine into a comfortable state. Second gear (5k) seems like I'm racing the engine and third (3.5k) seems like there is not enough revs. What do you advise?

KTM SMT 990 2009; 400 km so far.

You'd have to change your gear ratios. Going up a tooth on the rear sprocket will give you more revs in third. But calculate what the changes would do first. There are some web sites that will explain gear ratios and how to calculate what the revs will be. .

Is this your first twin? My SD is sitting 3.5-4 at 50k. This is the norm, it took me a while to get used to it coming off an inline 4. When you have it broke in give it a twist at this rev and you will see that it doesn't need to be spinning fast to deliver. Have fun
