Here's a thread from Supermoto Junkies about various exhaust options including the FMF.

Thanks for the info DT.
The 15 minute reset period specified by FMF does work. Smart bike!
Without this step you (I did) find stalling issues while starting out in first gear.
After reset, things are fine, so far.

Unhappy

Was OK, for a bit it seemed. No more. Stalling and code flashing. Needs a re-map. Can ANYONE tell me
(if their bike has been re-mapped by dealer) what map it was. The Akro map for 690 Duke???,some other???
Also wouldn't the bike have to be "cleared" by dealer program before a 15 minute reset would work, like done
on initial set-up when new? Any help would be appreciated.
This stalling #@%* is really annoying.

first thing I would do is, FINE ANOTHER KTM DEALER...
because You should not be asking for advice on how to fix your Duke on the internet.
unless you enjoy Bull****
A competent KTM dealer should be able to fix it under warranty, which means you got to put the stock pipe back on [ which is not a bad thing], or buy the KTM Ackropovic System, which is a OEM part..... to be under warranty..

personally, I know Smiths Powersports in Hayesville N.C. knows how to setup a 2008 KTM Duke properly

My location does not permit finding another dealer. Probably 400 mi. My dealer is fine in my opinion.
I was looking for answers on the internet from somebody who has DONE what I asked about. I know about BS.
If I put the stock exhaust on there is no problem, I can fix that. I have yet to hear from any dealer or manufacturer
that installing an aftermarket exhaust voids my warranty. Dealers sell new units with perf. upgrades installed.
Heres a scenerio.....buy a $40K truck and replace/upgrade the exhaust for say.....$8. Not with my $. Akro, way too much $ for a muffler with no cat.
Figued I'd buy an American product and help the economy there.
Thanks for the input but I am sure there is a solution to this problem, while keeping the FMF on the bike.
Power Commander would be nice.....when available.

Try the KTM Akra fuel map, this has been tried (not by me) by some and unless you buy a tuneboy its the only alternative map there is.
The dealer/tuner will overwrite your stock map with the new map, then do the 15 min reset before you can ride it.

Default remap

I bought the FMF and tuneboy for my Duke from biohazard cycles. Very happy with the sound and performance. Be prepared though, these Apex slip on are LOUD!!
