Default 08' 690 Duke - clutch issues

Was hoping I could get a little more input/advice before I pay out for maintenance. This is my first hydraulic clutch, so the problems that come with them are all new to me. I'm pretty positive at this point I need to replace my clutch slave cylinder, the oil turned brown and darkened only weeks after it was replaced. Thats not so much my concern though and that question was answered in another forum.

I still don't know if the slave cylinder is whats causing my soft clutch. Its hard to engage now, and has to be pulled all the way to the grips (no more 2 finger clutching). Its hard to put it in neutral when running, but the notchy shifting is probably due to the dirty clutch fluid right? Are there any other factors that could cause this?
