Default Superduke FMF - Apex exhausts too loud

Hi
I bought the FMF apex exhaust. They come with cones that insert where the canister joins the link pipe. Even in the quite setting (cones facing engine) I find them too loud - still sets of car alarms!
I was thinking of squeezing the the ends of the cones down to reduce there size a bit (reduce the size of the opening by 15%). A) I was wondering if anyone has tried this? B) Does anyone think it will work or worse cause problems for the bike.
they do look great though

Thanks for any advice
Andy

I thought the same thing when I put mine on. You will get used to it. If not I recommend a good pair of ear plugs

Thanks. Did you have the mapping changed after installing them? I heard the bikes comes preset with an akrapovic map.
I have ear plugs an love the deep bass sound, it's everyone else I worry about - when I gear down it's like a sonic boom!

Yes I had it remapped. When I put them on I was popping some big flames out of the pipes. But after the remap that was all takin care of. My KTM dealer loaded the Akro map I think it was about $40.00
