I took my 690 Duke (2008) out two weeks ago. Living in Montreal, Canada, it is stored during the harsher months of winter.
First surprise when I turn the key: all starts but nothing appears on the dashboard...
Guess what fixed it? Pushing down on the fuses in the fuse box... How odd. Maybe one was not solidly in place. That's what I thought two weeks ago.
Today, I drive for 15 minutes, park it, come back an hour later, turn the key. This time only the front lights and signal lights work... No engine noise, no dashboard, nothing, and hitting the start button does nothing...
I tried to boost the battery, nothing more happens... So it's not the battery. I pushed on the fuses as with the first problem, still nothing.
Retrospectively, I'm starting to think the problem in both cases might be the same: a bad connection BEHIND the fuse box... Some things get the battery's juice, other parts don't...
Maybe when I initially pushed on the fuses two weeks ago I helped that weak connection. But today, nothing could help it...
Any other guesses?
It really scares me about this bike though. Geeeeeez, how finicky and sensitive! Makes me want to sell it...
