Exclamation Duke LC4 oil level question? Need some help.

Just got my bike back from the KTM dealer and got a full valve adjustment spark plug change, oil change etc.
So this afternoon, I went and checked my fluid levels like I always do before i ride, and noticed that ,my oil level seemed low. The oil level with the bike on its kick stand (leaning over) the oil level is right in the middle of the two notches, but with the bike level (straight up) the oil level is just barley touching the bottom of the oil dip stick. I was always told to check the oil level with the bike up right is that correct for the KTM LC4?
Did the mechanic fill it with the bike on the kick stand?
Should I top off my oil with it standing up straight?

on the receipt it shows he used 2 qts of 15w50 syn. oil. so i can go out and get some and top it off... i guess?
any suggestions... thanks!

*also not sure If i should have posted this in the LC4 section, but I noticed that theres more people in this section who can help, so sorry if its in the wrong spot.

I always check LC4 with the kick stand on a piece of 2 X 4.
My 2002 holds 1.9 quarts.

Maybe they did not fill the frame, and just filled the case.

That would make it on the low side.

The oil level is to be checked with the bike standing straight up and the oil level should be visible anywhere in the sightglass to be considered normal.

What I dont understand is the oil level should rise when checked after looking at it on the kickstand. Are you sure it isnt overfull and not low?

Also the only oil weights specified for the LC4 are SAE 10w/60 and if you cant get that then 10w/50 is the only other oil that KTM specifies that is OK to use.

Yeah I took a piece of a 2x4 and put it under my kick stand, to level my bike, so I can properly check the oil level. It ended up being about 1/4 of a qt low.

In the KTM manual I have, that came with the bike, it says to let the bike run for 4 mins, then turn it off for 5 mins, then check the oil with the bike level.

Glad it worked out for you.

I'm just curious what year and model bike do you have?
