Default Charcoal Canister

That silly charcoal canister on the Duke 690 is taking up the only available space on the bike for storage. I would like to remove it but I'm not sure how. Could anyone who has done this mod, post up on how to do it? Thanks

Thanks Bajadog, theres alot of useful Duke info in that thread but I'm not sure there were any how to's on the canister removal. I really dont feel like ripping my new bike apart to find out for myself so if anyone cares to jump in here, feel free.

I asked around and found this cannisterectomy link, it's not the duke, rather it's the 690e, but it might get you going.

I think what Duke wants to know---and so do I---is just how do you get the plastic evap canister out of the tool tray with out breaking anything.

All the "how to" threads deal with details of replacing resistors, etc. but don't give the info for us simple guys who just want to take out the canister and leave all the wiring and hoses in place.

If we know how the canister is secured in the tray (screws, glue, clamp) we can figure out how to remove it without breaking it. Any help out there ?

Duke...I have been told you have to remove all the tail plastic/lic plate brackets, etc and the canister is held by bolts accessible from the bottom of the pan.
