Default Spools/Sliders/Bobbins For The Duke 690

Took a nice Saturday ride down to my local motorcycle shop this weekend. I was in search of some swingarm spools so I could use my new bike stands to lift the bike.

It turns out they didnt kave any in my size which is 10mm for all KTM's by the way.

Wanting to lift my bike that same sunny Saturday I was not detered by my motorcycle shops lack of inventory or very poor attitude. I just hopped back on the Duke and headed to my local hardware store and purchased two 3" 10mm bolts for $3 total. They worked like a charm and will work in the mean time while I wait for my combination spools/sliders to arrive from my internet purchase.

I'm fairly new to these style bikes and I have noticed that there are not too many front fork sliders available for purchase but KTM does offer them. How do they attach. Does anyone know?

Looks like the run through the axle from this
photo.
I wonder if that adds a bit of stiffness to the forks.

Thanks Dog, I have seen that pic before but thats a nice large picture and it does look like it comes with a replacement axle nut designed to hold that rod in place.

I agree that it might even add a bit of stiffness to the axle.

Default sliders

They (axle sliders) do not add stiffness, they do come with "thru-nuts" front and back. I have a full set (Front/Rear) set to sell if you are interested. 1/2 price. plus actual ship. PM me. -morph (they will fit SMC or Duke) - they are KTM brand genuine parts.

Morph, are you getting rid of the blessed Duke, or do you not like the way the sliders look?

Thanks Morph, Sounds like a great deal but I ordered the fronts already and I bought the combo spool/sliders for the rear. So anyone else who is interested feel free to contact Morpheous.
