Default Any diffrences between 08 and 10 models?

Hi There,
I'm looking to buy Duke 690.
There are great deals on used or demo 08-09 models. Is there a different between 2008 and 2010 Duke 690?

What other differences between the R and the normal Duke? Does the R have better suspension? Light wheels?

2010 KTM Duke 690 R

Now 70 full-blooded hp packed into a vehicle weight of just 148 kg lend the Duke 690 R unrivalled panache. Highest quality components and the unique optics are also typical KTM. As well as the highly potent motor, the 690R also features the orange frame specially reserved for the R models. Carbon mudguards, an extremely sophisticated fork and the new orange rear damper spring are among the outstanding features of the Duke R. Other improv ements include an extended maintenance interval and ensure that this very hot street bike will continue to have no serious rivals.

They stroked it to a true 690ccs, they fixed the fueling,(+ 5 HP), improved the suspension valving, same weight, and painted the frame and shock spring orange. But you cant get one in the USA. Bummer.

Can we get the suspension upgrades into the 690? Do you still have fueling issues with the 690?
After over 21,000 miles would you still recommended getting the 690 (as the R is not an option at least for the coming year...)?

Yes the Duke is a fantastic motorcycle. Mine has been reliable and strong. It gets ridden daily 3/4 of the year (with the exception of salted and snowy/icy winter road conditions) I dont have fueling issues (my bike is stock) Most EFI suffering has come with aftermarket exhausts and intake mods and dealers not being profficient on the EFI/ETP software (this has improved since 2008). There are aftermarket suspension shops that Im sure can handle any valving/spring woes. AS always, the east and west coasts are going to be your better areas for getting specialized service. 2008,9,10 are the same model, unchanged. The R is not available in the US as yet.

I live in the bay area, and the KTM in SF is very good (they service my Aprilia). If the R suspension mods are simple valving (both R and 690 have WP USD Ø 48 mm) parts then swapping should be trivial. Where I ride 60HP are more then enough, so I'm not concern about missing the extra HP. I will probably get the 690 next week.
Thanks for the answers.
