If you mean a aluminum rear sprocket, I tried a renthal a on
my XR650r, and only got about 2200 miles on it.

It was lighter, but lasted only 1/4 of what my steel OEM sprocket lasted.

For the weight savings, and double the cost...

?? you want aluminum sprockets and chain?? good luck with that one.

Maybe read your owners manual and adjust your chain and lube it properly?

I know the factory racers (both GP and motocross) use as many
weight saving components as they can, as a few dozen grams here
and there can add up.

I would recommend a Supersprox Stealth sprocket. It has an aluminum carrier with the sprocket teeth section made of steel. The two are riveted together. No, the rivets don't come lose and they've never had one fail; even on modified Haybusas. They look great and are very strong and last as long as steel. Cost is about $80 US. I've had one on my ZRX1200 for years and it is great.

My duke has always had a noisy final drivetrain, and I lube it multiple times a week. I do run it on the loose side though, like dirtbike chain slack.

Its difficult to determine 'normal' noise levels, and country of origin has little to do with it. It depends on the roundness of the sprockets, the chain tension, lubrication (Wax or Oil), the quality of the chain, the countershaft sprocket (dampened or not), the length and relative attitude of the swingarm, chain buffers etc. Each bike can be different even in the same model line, it depends on the variables.
