Cool thinking of getting a duke

I'm an 18 year old and looking at getting rid of my slow gas sucking jeep. I ride a 08 300xcw and thought what better than to get a KTM duke. I would like to know if its a good every day bike with no backup. I live in texas and don't have much need to ride on the highways.

why think ? go a buy 1 today ! frankly speaking .. the bike suck if you hit anything above 170km/h .. but other than that is a damn good bike.

For ripping around town or canyon carving it's a great bike. More than an hour in the saddle and your butt will beg for mercy though so bear that in mind. Make sure you test ride one first - they're not to everyones taste. Very abrupt throttle response makes stop start riding in traffic a drag. Mine was one of many that sh*t itself after 5000kms due to a known problem with the rocker arm bearing seizing and destroying most of the top end in the process. Got fixed under warranty but this has happened to several so you may want to get a guarantee from your dealer that if that happens there will be no questions asked and they'll fix it.

I love mine but its a very 'focused' bike. If you want something that's easy to live with and versatile - I wouldn't recommend it. But for shear fun and a sexy looking bike to boot - it's a winner.

I went for full day ride almost 200 miles of tight roads and no complain.
As long as the road is curvy you will have a blast

I shouldn't have a problem with the seat because I'm able to ride my 300xcw on the trails for more than 2 hours with little pain. I'm also in love with KTM ever since I got my first bike from them and now I only want KTM. So once I get some more money I will test one out and hopefully have one shortly after that!!!
