I just got my Duke 690 and tested it along with some of my friends on our fave route with a LOT of twisties. One was on an Aprilia Tuono and another was on a KTM 950 Adventure.
I'm still breaking in my bike, so I can't let the engine go above 6k RPM. But, even with that limitation, I was never left behind and in the twisties, I had some opportunities to pass (though, I generally like to maintain my position).
100-130 is definitely a doable cruising speed. 160-180 is possible but you'll get tired maxing out the bike like that for a long time. It's very stable at speed and in corners, only issue in straights is wind.
The Duke 690 is definitely a revelation! It's the best handling bike I've ever had, having started with a Ducati Monster 600, 750, Yamaha Virago 750, Vstar 1100, VFR 750, Honda Hornet 600 (maybe the next best handling bike I've owned but the Duke kills it in corners and stoplights), Suzuki SV 1000. I now have the Duke and a Harley Sportster. Duke is my play-bike
