Default HELP!!!! Anyone experienced this before?

Has anyone experienced this before? Last week, I was at a traffic junction and was about to move off when my Duke 690R died on me.. Initially I thought the fuel was empty but the fuel indicator lamp did not lit up. I tried cranking it a few times but it did not start.. No warning light was seen on the speedo.. Temperature of the engine was about 9 bars when it died off.. After about 45 minutes, the bike managed to be started.. I quicky rode the bike to the nearest petrol station and top it up.. I topped it up full and it was only 7.5 litres.. The next day, I went down to the local KTM agent to get it check but according to the mechanic, there was nothing wrong with it and maybe one of the compensating valves was closed.. Even though I was not convience with the answer, I thought he might be right.. So he told me that he had opened both of the compensating valves fully to prevent this from happening..

Then today, exaxtly a week after the first incident, it happened again.. While i was riding it, it died again.. There was no warning lights.. Engine temperature was 8 bars.. I checked the fuel compensating valves, there were both fully opened.. The bike was able to crank but could not start.. Then after about 30 minutes, the bike managed to be started.. And to the petrol station, I went.. Topped it up full, only about 8.9 litres..

Can anyone help? What is wrong with my bike? I have not gone to the KTm agent yet.. Planning to go there tomorrow..

If your bike was carbureted I would suspect that your bike
is running lean, or had a jetting problem.

With fuel injection I've read that the ECU controls that, and
on the 990 duke, KTM apparently has a ECU map update.

Also some posts on other sites mention a grey connector from
the FI to the ECU. Disconnecting it and putting some dielectric grease
on the pins.

Yep.. Currently all are stock stuffs.. I don't think it's the air filter as on every other day, the bike was running fine..

what I cal suggest is goto your KTM dealer and let the run until it stop and tel them troubleshoot the problem .

No high tech wizardry, moderators can view the post ip address.

I would still be a little leery about hauling **S on your bike.
If you were traveling at high speed with cars on your tail, it might
be dangerous to stall out.

Glad to see you've sorted it out.

You probably ruled this out with adjusting the fuel valves, but when I demo rode the new SMT the salesman said he had just topped it off and that I didn't need to worry about fuel. About 60-70 miles down the road it died. After a few minutes it started but then died again. Each time I had to wait longer for it to restart and it ran for a shorter length of time. This happened about 8-9 times and then it just wouldn't start. I pushed it a mile to a gas station, the last 1/4 mile was slightly uphill. Full leathers and my Sidi's, in Florida . Put a gallon in and rode it to the dealer. Ended up being a bad fuel valve and although there was still a gallon or more in the tank, it couldn't get to the side with the fuel pickup so it died. If it sat long enough, some fuel would transfer to the other side and it would start and run for awhile.
