Default Passed-out Duke

Went for a ride this morning, 3 hours out around the hills and back. Parked up, had a shower, got changed for work and left on the bike, an hour later.

Got to the end of the street and the engine died. Tried to restart it, but no joy. It was like it had run out of gas but there's a half tank in there at least.

Got home 10 minutes ago ... started fine.

WTF? What's doing on with my Duke 3?

Mine ran good after I got it dynoed, but then a week later it started to stall out again. The rpm's seem to go below the normal idle amount then it cuts off. Now for some reason I can only start it from neutral and not in gear. As long as I give it gas its fine. These bikes are real finicky!
Not exactly sure what's going on with yours but that's my current problem.

Reading that thread ... it's something to do with the fuel pump.

Today, I did the 15 minute reset then 10 minutes after I shut the bike off, went to ride to work - this time, I listened but there was no pump whine when I turned the key, just a few sad, muted clicks ...

It started for a bit but of course died as the fuel ran out - I bet that's what happened the other day. So there's something iffy with the fuel pump.

EDIT : read the thread - there it is on page two ... over-heating fuel pump. Nuts. It's taken 4 weeks to get the mount kit for the alarm ...

@ Kamikuza - So what is the problem with your bike? Same problem as mine -overheating fuel pump? It has been 2 weeks since the last breakdown, now my bike is running as normal like there is no problem with it.. The suspected malfunction fuel pump is still on my bike.. Frankly speaking, i myself is confused.. Nevertheless, i still waiting for the new fuel pump..

Dunno yet, the bike was only picked up last night ...
When it does prime on start, it sounds nasty - not the crisp high-pitch whine I remember from my old bike ...
