Default Duke FI problem ????

Hi,

Rode in the rain yesterday. This morning bike would barely start, running rough and then died. FI light was blinking and then stayed on during this process. Any ideas of where to start would be great.
Thank you.

Default FI Problem

Bike has 5500 miles. After 10 hours tried the bike again and it started right up. No FI light. I wonder if something just got wet from the day before????
It ran great today.

That's what it does when the fuel pump region is iffy. If you're mechanically inclined, check the contact and wiring etc first ...

Default Iffy fuel pump problem after a wash

I washed my duke yesterday and had problems starting it At first it struggled to stay on then died. I tried again and it struggled even more then died. After that it wouldn't start at all... Very frustrating. F1 flashed 4x short and 1x fast indicating the code for a "Fault/short-circuit in fuel pump control circuit" according to the user manual.

Is there anything that can be done to make my duke a little more waterproof?

Cheers,
Reshad

Wrap vulnerable areas such as throttle body or battery area. Or don't spray water directly up into the bike.

Ps - taking out the sparkplug and squirting water into the cylinder head will help too. JK dont do that

Default Waterproofing a duke

Cheers Midwestrider.

Do you not think that may encourage the condensation of water and foster more electrical problems?

I was considering using electrical silicon sealant between all the plugs and sockets but I'm concerned that may reduce conduction across the parts...

Any thoughts Forum?

I ment only wrap when washing the bike. Then take off the wrap. Wrapping for permanent use wouldn't be good at all.
