Default Headlights On The Duke 690

Along with all the other excellent features the duke has, the headlights are awesome looking and work well for the most part. I mean that the light thats thrown out is bright, well patterned and easy on the eyes. With the brights on, a dark country road is a breeze to ride on. Beautiful light quality.

The problem with the lights as far as I'm concerned is upper cutoff pattern of the low beams. I'ts so razor sharp that anything above the cutoff is pitch black and because of this it creates a number of problems; a flashing effect on all the reflective signs, in the mirrors of the cars in front of me and on coming traffic too. It's also difficult to see far enough ahead when riding downhill.

By the way my lights are adjusted to factory specs. Anyone have any ideas for a fix?

because of the glass bulb covers that ktm puts in these bikes (causing a prism effect) i have been pulled over and questioned as to why i was flashing blue and red lights at a cop while behind him......after this incident i started messing around with the lights to avoid the "bounce" youre talking about and fix night time riding visibility. i adjusted my day time runner up so the colorful part of the top of the light wasnt flashing colors at the cops anymore and then adjusted my high beam (lower light) down for normal night use. essentially anytime im riding at night my "brights" are on but they are lowered so as to not blind the oncoming traffic too badly......adjust the top light up and the bottom light down. youll have to play with it for a little while until youre satisfied but thats how i fixed my light situation......
