Default my 2010 ktm rc8r

ok here she is, this will be quite a description i think.

i bought the rc8 in late 2010, it stayed mostly stock for the first bit, i only added sato rearsets, yoyodyne slipper clutch and oberon slave cylinder at first.

once i decided to part out my fully built rc51 i started to buy stuff for the ktm

i grabbed a set of ohlins fgrt812 forks, bst carbon wheels, ohlins ttx36 shock, and brembo hp billet calipers, all the parts that would transfer from the honda i slapped on the ktm, also scored a smoking deal on a kls quickshifter from an rc51 forum.

sadly our trackday season here ended before i got all the parts on, so i'll have to wait till next spring to get her out on the track as she sits, but it rides nothing like the stock one now. the front wheel and rotors come in 5.5lbs under the stock forged marchesini front wheel and oem rotors.

i'll post a few pics of how it sits now, and maybe a couple of the rc51.

billet brembo 19x16 brake master cylinder with folding lever, also a euro racing adjustable quick turn throttle

billet brembo 16x18 clutch master with folding lever

sato rearsets with shift spindle stabilizer (no more false neutrals or mis-shifts), and gp shift plate, oberon billet clutch slave cylinder with billet aluminum backing plate (isntead of oem plastic piece), and kls quickshifter

ohlins fgrt812 forks, brembo billet hp calipers, braketech axis ceramic matrix composite rotors and bst carbon front wheel. (the bst and cmc combo weighs in at 5.5 lbs less than the oem machesini and stock rotors)

braketech axis cast iron rear rotor, brembo hp billet rear caliper, and bst carbon rear wheel

akrapovic evo 4 full system with the rest of the clubkit installed (cam timing, air filter, map and thin headgaskets). this system didn't have a baffle option so i had a few different sized baffles built and drilled my pipe to bolt them in.

ohlins ttx36 rear shock

i've also replaced the soft wp steering damper with an ohlins unit and installed a yoyodyne slipper clutch (i prefer yoyodyne's design because they use coil springs instead of spiders and seem to be much less finicky than other units). the bike also has a did erv3 520 chain with 16/39 gearing

Wow. Love them both. The RC8 is sick. Nice work.

I hate you....

In all seriousness I don't but damn that thing is sexy. I've always loved the way some street bikes looked and I've even owned a Ducati (same one twice lol). For me though I can never get comfortable on them so now I've got a 950 Adventure. Same sweet sound, loads of torque and but the seating position I am more comfortable with.

Keep it rubber side down and on at least one wheel which one is your choice!
