I've only got 70 miles on mine, in for the same oil leak from the stator. Is yours leaking from where the wires come out? The tech working on mine thinks thats where its leaking. They are waiting on the stator gasket before they dig into it, they don't have one in stock.

my leak is at/near the bottom. bottom of the case would be wet with oil after a ride.

it is still leaking after they replace the gasket a second time. they have called the KTM rep.

Anyone find a solution for the stator wire leak? My 2011 is doing the same thing...I prefer to work on my own stuff(the dealership here has chimpanzees for techs). I took it apart...resealed...leaked again. Took it apart again today...resealed with something else...and now waiting for it to cure. It looks like the notch for the plug may be cut too far back in the case, resulting in the gasket not seating tight when torqued. Was curious as to what ktm has said about it.

Looks like I may have the same issue.. Picked the bike up yesterday and put about 60 miles on it and when I shut it down it was smoking and smelled like it was burning oil.. Is the stator on the right side of the engine? That is where the smoke is coming from...

Unfortunately for me the dealer is 4 hours away so this may prove to be interesting..

my dealer installed a new gasket for the stator cover (left side). it leaked after a day's ride.

brought it back in....KTM told them to try another gasket.....same result.

they used some RTV or adhesive with the gasket and so far the leak has stopped.

dealer told me they checked the cover and engine surfaces for flatness and it was OK.

Got mine back the other day, took it out for a short ride and came back into the garage. Smoke rolling out and the smell of burning oil. Back to the dealer. I'm not liking this, I have an Aprilia and a Ducati that have never been in the shop, a Harley that's never been in the shop and have had Yamaha's and Honda's that have never spent any time in the shop. Summer is going to be over before this gets fixed I think.

After taking mine apart for the third time...I think its cured. I used permatex "copper". So far so good...but if it happens again, I'm going for the Honda-bond. I used yama-bond before, but that didn't work(too thin). I still think the case is cut back too far for the rubber plug. Changing gaskets won't do anything.
