Default Did someone try to steal it?! PLZ HELP!

Hey Guys,
Im lucky enough to own an 08 KTM RC8 and my god i f'n! LOVE my bike it makes my pants fit nice if u get me! and im lucky enough to own one at a fairly young age too, today i rode it to my University end of term exam! In the morning she started without a worry in the world

BUT

When i walked out of my exam, put the key in the ignition, it unlocked my handle bars without a worry, flicked over to the "off" position, but then WOULD NOT MOVE! towards the "on" position, it feels totally jammed, i tried and tried jiggling the key, half in half out EVERYTHING ... couldnt get it to tick over, got it towed home

has this happened to anybody else? or has some dickhead tried stealing it? and jammed something into the ignition and ****ed it?

PLEASE HELP! - RC8 Melbourne Australia

Did someone use the old superglue in the ignition trick or mess with the wiring?

Check it out and let us know what's up. It helps us all to be on our toes for thieves.

I've read about a problem with the steering stopper on some models. Don't know the details, but it has something to do with a block that keeps the forks moving too far lock-to-lock. Have no idea if it might be causing your problem.

Have you checked with the UK RC8 forum? They have a lot more activity over there.

I am having a similar problem. What did the problem end up being? My key won't turn or come out and I'm stuck 400 miles from home.

My ignition is very finicky. Sometimes it will not easily turn to the run position.

Default Me too

I also had that problem. Rode the bike to work, tried to start it at the end of the day with out any luck. The key would not turn past the off position at all, very weird. Tried it again the next morning and it worked fine. Might be some sort of anti-theft feature.
