Default Rc8 Redbull upgrades

Hey everyone, just bought the Redbull Rc8r and was going to install the club kit. Just wanted to know if anyone else had and if they had installed everything. I am not going to run head gaskets for now but am planning on doing valves and everything else. Any insight or thoughts would be awesome. Bike is the most fun bike I have ever road. Has 700 miles and can't wait to ride another 700.

Regards,

Travis

Awesome ! I have #6 of 25 Red Bull Edition and have installed everything except for the head gaskets. You can find some of my prior posts for the details and obstacles I had to overcome along the way.

You will love the Akra exhaust, the bike will sound as it was intended ! You will have to remap the ECU and you have a few options: have a local KTM stealer do it, download SW online to do it, or purchase a fuel controller. I did the latter and installed a Bazzaz.net Zfi with self mapping air/fuel option ... it is awesome! I dyno'd 156 RWHP after doing the self mapping at a local dyno (only 15 minutes to tune) and almost 90 ft-lb of torque from 2000-11000K ! I'm not going to mess with engine internals for a few more horsepower, tons of work, I'd rather be riding ! ;-)

Note there are no instructions for removing the SAS, only instructions for the 990 were included which were useless. I can help walk you through it, pretty easy. I chose to leave the SAS sensor in it's place (just behind the main steering hub in front of the airbox, tough to get at) plugged into OEM harness (so you don't get ECU light) and used rubber plugs to plug the three ports and used a bolt to plug the OEM hole I tapped in the airbox.

I've installed a bunch of crash protection as I will be taking it to the track alot, so let me know what you're looking for and I can share my experiences (ie. R&G Racing case sliders, Aero frame sliders, fork sliders and swingarm sliders). I ordered the Catalyst composites race fairings and am fitting them now, good construction, fitment is good, but still alot of fine tuning and a pain in the *** ! You have to relocate the OEM ECU and rectifier which are behind the left and right side fairings near the fork tubes. You can buy the relo brackets that fit the components neatly where the headlight used to be.

If you are looking for an after market fuel controller you'll find there are none for the 2010 RC8R, except for the Bazzaz and it is awesome and price is up there too ! AMA pro's use it and I'll be upgrading soon, so if you're interested I can sell you my ZFi unit with a brand new unused main wiring harness, all OEM instructions and boxes. Let me know.

Fee free to reach me anytime at njythrde@yahoo.com as I do not frequent this site. Good luck, ride safe and have fun !
