Looks great! I don't know what I'd be afraid of more. Dumping the stock plastics, or the awesome track skins. Nice job!

Thanks fearless! I ordered the track kit from catalyst composites in California. About $800 plus shipping to new York. They were good, but like most fiberglass kits, many hours tweaking, sanding, cutting etc for best fitment. They come primed, but if you want a great paint job, your painting will need to go over everything for best prep. For the regular track guy who is not going to show the bike (like me) you can test fitment and just throw some paint on them, will approropriate prep ofcourse.

I've seen other kits from the UK and ktmparts.com, but I've heard some horror stories, UK kits I found on eBay for $500 plus shipping. One place can send to you painted, but that's risky if fitment is not good requiring modification, thus new paint.

Catalyst was a good kit, just reaked of resin out of the box. I had to fit and drill and mount on bike and set in the sun for about a week to cure. Those areas that were a little off or required a little bending to fit, would then retain some memory. It's light weight and flexible enough, so make sure your painter adds some flexing agent to prevent cracking in areas that may require a little bending to fasten.

Oh, and if you are thinking of track day today and street tomorrow, u might bd better off just taping your tailight and headlight and removing mirrors, ECU relocation is required with track kit and with headlight and tailight removal, u migt be street ready after a few hours of removing the track kit. Ktmparts sells a bracket kit for ecu and rectifier relocation, plus kickstand removal kit too.

Hope this helps.

Ha! cool man, thanks! They are not perfect, but the track fairings came out better than expected! I hope all us USA RC8r owners can get a rally together or meetup or owners club sponsored by ktm so we can demonstrate how passionate we are about these superbikes! Maybe I'll work on the effort next time I meet some ktm people at midohio ktm race orange!

Cheers,
DPerez
