Default Dual compound tires

Love the stock Diablos that came with the bike, but with Florida's flat and mostly straight roads, the inevitable flat spot on the rear is starting to make an appearance.

When I replace the rear, I want to go with a decent dual compound that will maybe last a little longer, but still give decent cornering grip. I've used Pilot Power 2CT's in the past and liked them, but am interested in other suggestions as well.

Thoughts?

Metzler M5 works for me. Cant beat the Corsa SPs in the dry but not a bad second.

I would have to totally agree! The Metzler Racetec M5s are an awesome choice for the KTM RC8R. They do not use a dual compound but rather build different zones in to the tires belt construction. My 2011 RC8R came with the Dunlop Sport Tec tires from KTM, but I found them to be quite slippery and not giving good feedback. They also only lasted a little over 3k!
I'm now on my second set of Metzler Racetec M5s and i got almost 5k out of the first set! The neat thing about them is that even though they obviously get more wear in the center, they retain a rounded cross sectional shape all the way to the end and don't seem to get that pronounced flat center section. (Unless you do a bunch of burnouts of course!) They also seem to be "sticky" right out of the box and warm up extremly fast.
I think as far as dry traction goes I agree, nothing can really beat the Pirelli Corsa SPs, but M5s come really close.

Thanks guys. I'll add the Metzlers to my list to check out.
