2 Seconds away from taking a hammer to these brakes!
How in the world do you get the pin out of the rear brake??? I am either missing something completely or have no muscles and should return this bike for a Ninja 250 Any advice would be great, brakes are squealing like crazy and I am hoping to scuff them up a little in the event they are glazed over. Thanks!

Yep! I know you have to first remove the small clip on the end and then I am assuming you depress the "S" shaped spring while pushing the pin out? Ive tried pushing, pulling, twisting all to no avail.

Okay, I have a call in to my buddy that is an RC8 owner.
If you can wait, I will post his recommendation.

The two guys I know with RC8s are scratching their heads. They say it "should" slip out with finger pressure.
Is the bike still under warranty?

if you're referring to the brake pad retaining pin. I've had to use a punch and hammer to help in its removal. just a few light taps will do it. this is on a superduke but it's the same design.

Hmm, im scared to push it out with force as i feel the retaining spring will come out with it and it will be impossible to put back in without an extreme amount of pressure. The constant squealing might put me over the edge and ill try it. It is still under warranty and I have my first maintenance in 2 weeks, UK forums say taking it to the dealer is worthless, they all have done so 3+ times, finally gave in and bought new pads and the problem went away. We will see, thanks for the input!

Alright, here's the answer. Don't focus on that spring at all, no need to touch it. With a punch and a hammer, tap the pin out (it can only go one direction). When the pin is half way out the spring will pop out, but barely. Replace the pad, slide the pin back in with your fingers, reseat the spring and tap the pin with a hammer. It will slide through the spring with little force and thats it. I was so hung up on that spring thinking it was applying alot of pressure to the pin and needed to be relieved, not that case. Thanks all!

Curious, were you able to solve the squealing issue? My rear brake does it as well.
