Default where is the 20 hp between my 2010 and new 2011 ?

Someone here can tell me where is the 15-20 hp between my rc8 2010, and the rc8r 2011 ? it's the same motor ? May-be it's the cam, head, box, mapping ?

It's possible to add this 15-20 hp to my 2010 whitout put all my money on it?

Let me know how i can win 20-25 hp on my bike, for have my friend whit gsxr 1000 2009 behind me ...

All the Rs run 13.5:1 compression. The 2011 runs twin plug heads and different computer and wiring. The Rs also have different cams.

Thinner head gaskets are availiable but you will need a different engine bracket. A good exhaust, air filter and proper mapping should fix you up for 20hp. You could also add cams. You will need someone who knows these bikes. I think Dan Kyle has played with them and I know HMC racing know what they are doing.

Another option is to upgrade to an R.

You also have the club race kit from KTM but need to add the Akra exhaust.

Tanks for Your anser. That was i need to know. Exhaust and cam plus the good mapping Will give me the 20-25 hp i want? What Is the best exhaust for hp and the most quiete possible. For the cam. I need the R cam or after market cam. ?

Best exhaust is the Akrapovic EVO4 but very loud. Other options are JCE and FMF but both are still pretty loud. You can allways decat the original as its actually a pretty good system.

As for cams I dont know of any aftermarket cams but you could grind your cams and adjust with offset bushes.

Unless you are an expert engine builder and tuner you will need to find a good Tech guy who knows these motors.

it's hard to take off the catalyser on this exhaust ?

I'm from Quebec, Canada, and Rc8 here are no frequent.

The UK KTM forum has a good thread on this. Basically cut all the welds and open the muffler. Remove cat and them weld back together. The muffler is stainless so best to tig. Best get a good exhaust guy to do it for you. Far cheaper than a new exhaust and apparently well worth the effort.

It Will have better sound ?
It will give also how many hp ? About 4-5?
May be the cat is in the front of the canister !
I need a new mapping in this case ?
I also blocked the 2 ose of the sas system whit a métal plug inside the ose.
