Default It's tricky.....

Google setting rc8r service light and a link to the UK forums comes up. I found the sequence and it works. I wrote it down someplace and I'll post it later. It's very tricky and easy to mess up. Nothing bad happens if you do. My dealer in MD did not know how to do it either. It's not in the owner manual and not on the CD tech manual either. I'll post it tomorrow. I do have it and it works. In fact you can set the service interval too. I set mine to come on at 6 k miles but could make it any number. It's going to be a nice east coast fall day and I'm riding all weekend. This is the best bike I have owned and that includes Kawasaki. Suzuki. Aprilia, and Honda. Had it to 120 so far and 2k miles bought in July.

thanks for the info. I just found it on the UK forum.

Press +/- for a few seconds. Go down to the Settings. Press Mode briefly. Now press +/- for a few seconds again. The menu options will be updated with a new one: Service Reset.

it did the trick.

I got the info from the ktm uk forum but it still took me awhile to figure out.

so after 600 miles you need to set the next interval with xxxx miles? it seems that the service reminder doesn't know the factory recommended intervals so user has to set it.
