Default EFI question Bazzazz/user setting tool/etc

hello all. new member with a few questions...

here's the bike, 2011 RC8R:

did not go with the track version, as once youre done with a race bike- its worth almost nothing. at least the street version you get a title and can plate when your done.

so did the street version, and am putting it on the track. had one track day as test tune, have another this weekend. want to hit the last race in december (yes, its NICE to live in FL!) and then come out swinging next season.

here is my question- picked up the EVO4 pipe from HMC, and it has the lambda sensors plugged. they said they do not use them.

also picked up the KTM race part CDI with appropriate map already installed.

i plug it in, let it run without touching the throttle for 5min so everything resets and is kosher-- and i get a "CAN ERROR".

now my big question is- does anyone know how the stock loom and track wiring harness are different, and why a RACE CDI finds error with a stock harness?

second question is- bought the KTM USER SETTING TOOL as my nearest dealer is 3hrs away and i dont want to depend on him everytime i want to make minor adjustments. with KTM data logging and fine tuning... has anyone had any experience with the tool? (btw- dont have it yet)

third question- was looking into the bazzazz system. the traction control, specifically... how developed is it? does it utilize a gyroscope for lean angle and pitch? or is more primitive, with just throttle position vs gear selection vs wheel speed?

thanks much for ANY advice. its a great bike. and quick.

just not that much out there about these things.

thanks again.

to re set your ecu you have to let the bike run for 15 min without touching anything not 5

where are you seeing the error?

I plugged into ECU using tuneECU and saw the CAN BUS error too. However I was able to access the maps. I disabled the SAS. I'll install an exhaust and use tuneECU to adjust in the near future.

Sweet ride! I have #6 of 25 Red Bull edition. I went with the full bazzaz AFM with traction control and quick shifter. Tuning is a breeze and traction control is fully adjustable by gear, AF map, TPS and RPM. Did you blend your side fairings with your front cowl? Send more pics please!
Thanks Njythrde

yeah, if the UST doesnt do the job i want it to... the Bazzazz is next thing on the list. if you dont mind- i might be pm-ing you with questions about it.

the fairings are straight out of yoyodyne. the do away with the removeable middle sections- utilizing just the belly pan and an all inclusive top/front fairing.

here're are a few more pics of the yoyodyne stuff.... (bike about 90% completed)

Very cool! This kit includes a tank cover too! Looks to be much easier to install as my kit from catalyst composites has 6 pieces and no tank cover, pain to get aligned when first set up. Hit me up anytime at njythrde@yahoo.com and we can chat about bazzaz, very versatile and my bike makes more HP everytime I tweak it at the track!
Cheers,
David

thread update...

looks like the RACE CDI that has confounded me, is only to be used in conjunction with the track only wiring harness and the maps contained in it are for specific cam timing and compression ratios.

so the track harness is on its way along with all the other bits necessary.

i'll see how this goes- but after this weekend's test and tune, i'm thinking i shouldve gone bazzazz with its traction control...
