Default Checking oil level

The owner's manual isn't specific. Is the oil level checked with the dipstick screwed all of the way in, or with just the threads touching? I've had vehicles that required one method, and some that used the other.

all the way in bob, way i do it is warm bike up then check oil is bang on half way on dip stick,do this once, twice and triple check then let the bike cooldown and see where the oil level goes toand add oil when you need to when bike is cold
