Default How to remove the Stator cover on RC8R

Hi,

I've picked up my 2011 RC8R last week......Well and i have just find out this Bike having this very same oil leak issue! Can anyone show me how to remove/Re-installed and re-seal the gadget on this stator cover? Is it lot of oil inside?
My place is 10 hours away from the nearest dealer, so i only have one option.

Thanks in advance.

you'll see a little bit of oil but you don't have to drain the oil tank/sump. stand the bike straight up don't leave on kick stand.

I can look up the service manual tonight but I don't think there is anything in particular. use some yamabond or equiv on the new gasket.

Service manual says to simply remove the 12 bolts holding on the generator cover, remove the large center screw, use the special tool (extractor part #61229010000) which looks like a rod that threads into the center screw area just above the LC8 logo to remove the cover from the motor, it says to gently strike the cover with a rubber mallet to prevent strain. Prepare to lose a little oil, remove seals and dowels and any washers or hardware that may stick to the inside of the cover. Reverse the process for installation. I don't see any indication of applying liquid sealant, but I have a 2010 model and have no leaking issues. Good luck !
