Default 2011 MAJOR problem

I need to know, is anyone having idle problems with their RC8? I have been having issues with the idle for like 5 months. Its been out of the shop maybe 3 weeks total in the last 5 months. The shop is clueless to what the problem is. The bike has the FMF Apex, SAI removed, and charcoal canister removed. I can go on for days about the way I have been treated by KTM, but thats not the point of this post. I will post that later, I will say this is the LAST KTM I will ever buy. But, I am being told my bike is the ONLY one with this issue, and I do remember someone else saying something similar. But, KTM is sending a tech to the shop next week to look at the bike finally.

But, dont put anything on the bike that you dont buy from KTM, nor take anything off. You will be blamed when they cant seem to come up with any other reason. I will post the details I got told by KTM USA later.

Default My 2011 is fine...

But it's all stock, it's not worth the problems to remove the Evap stuff. I'm at 4 k miles and no problems at all.

Once you mod the bike you are generally on your own. Even if you fit KTM Racing parts you will wipe your warranty. For example anyone who has fitted a Evo 4 will be denied warranty, only Evo 1 carry the seal of approval. Just guessing but if you havn't re-mapped your bike with your mods it will not run right.

I have just under 3k miles on my 2011.

I have akras, SAS blocked off, charcoal removed.

I'm still running the OEM map. I can tell it's a little lean. it surges a little at low throttle. trying to decide if I'm going with KTM akra map or a bazzaz system.

please describe your problem? stalling?

990 and 1190 idles above 1500 but I'm been told it's required due to oil pump not providing adequate pressure below that.

as far as a shop that's capable.....you don't even want me to tell you my stories! let's just say I won't even consider bringing my bike in for warranty work.

When I start the bike cold or hot, it revs to about 4K RPMS for about 20-30 seconds, then drops to normal idle. When riding it, I began to take off from a stop and it acts as if it wants to stall out, OR it will rev high as soon as I pull the clutch in for 20-30 seconds.

What all did everyone else do for the ASI delete? Just want to ensure that I am inline with anyone else who has done this.

As far as KTM's warranty policies, they need to send out a list of approved parts, or atleast give out warranty information at the time of purchase. I even asked for something, and was told that the warranty was 12 months, and it was "bumper to bumper", and thats all I needed.

has the bike every been washed with water or ridden in the rain?

some ADV/other 990 riders with unexplained stalling issues finally tracked it down to moisture in the connectors. they cleaned and put dialectic grease on all the connectors and issue when away.
