Default Does installing the Club Racing Kit void the whole bike warranty or just the engine?

I have the kit installed on my bike. I am just wondering if the whole bike warranty is void now.

I know that in Australia and the UK it voids the warranty. Unless you guys have some laws which would override that I assume its the same there as well, but it also depends on your dealer and how they do business.

Thumbs up No "warranty voided" for RC8R Club Race Kit

Interesting question.
I, along with just about everyone else, assumes the installation of the kit voids the bike warranty.
I just got home and looked in the kit box for the Power Parts documentation that came with the kit (haven't installed it yet).
The part numbers in reference are Power Parts 69105283000 and 69105907000.
There is nothing in the included documentation that says installation of the kit will void the bike's warranty.
Here is what it does say:

"FOR RACING USE ONLY. NOT PERMITTED FOR USE ON PUBLIC ROADS!
FOR FITTING THE AKRAPOVIC MAIN SILENCER, THE MAPPING PROVIDED UNDER KTM DEALER.NET FOR DOWNLOAD MUST BE INSTALLED BY AN AUTHORIZED KTM WORKSHOP. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY THIS MAPPING BE USED WITH THE ORIGINAL EXHAUST SYSTEM! FIRE HAZARD!

Thank you for choosing KTM Power Parts.
All of our products are designed and built to the highest standards using the finest materials available.
KTM Power Parts are race proven to offer the ultimate in performance.

KTM WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR USE OF THIS PRODUCT. Please follow all instructions provided. If you are unsure of any installation procedure, please contact a certified KTM dealer.

Thank you."

That's all it says. The remainder of the instructions are devoted exclusively to the actual kit installation. There is no mention that installation of the kit has any negative affect on the bike's warranty.
Working in the motor vehicle industry as I do, I've got to say that there is no evidence to indicate that kit installation voids the bike's warranty. If the manufacturer does not specify any warranty restriction, then there is none..

When I bought my RC8R (Akrapovic #23 of 25) I signed a lot of forms acknowledging that if I install ANY portion of the race kit parts, I voided the entire warranty immediately. I did not hesitate to install the whole thing, except the head gaskets, as I am lazy. Currently I have my race bodywork fitted, and it is off to paint.

Were they KTM forms or dealer forms because I didn't sign anything of the sort?
I signed the 2010 KTM Motorcycle Limited Warranty document.
On page 2 of this document, under section V, General Exclusions from Warranty, statement 2, it says:

"Modifications, alterations, and installation of parts that are not genuine KTM parts or supplied as original equipment."

Since the Club Race Kit is genuine KTM Power Parts and since it was supplied with the bike's original equipment, it isn't excluded from warranty coverage.
There is nothing on the warranty document I signed that says anything about "voiding the entire warranty immediately". That phrase is not used.

Looked like KTM stuff to me, but my warranty would have expired next month anyway, so in my case it is a moot point. The dealer told me they wouldn't even remap for me, because it would void the warranty, so they wouldn't install the EVO4 when I bought the bike, so I did it myself and remapped with TuneECU. Haven't looked back since. I would suggest a direct call to a dealer. The forms I signed came out of the KTM box the club race kit came it, so I assume it is from the factory. YMMV

I got it.
Just more bad information from dealers who either don't understand the product and/or don't have the equipment, training, etc. to do the work.
There's little dealer support of this product, at least in the Northeast.
The notion that the kit "voids" the warranty is just dealer BS.

I'm considering the TuneECU route vs. the KTM User Tool with the UT map.
Heard good things both ways. I'm going to stop by a KTM dealer tomorrow and see if they know anything about the UT map. Spring will be here soon.,,
