Default New Owner with a quick Question

Hi Guys,

I recently got a 2008 RC8 with only 3,500k's on it. It's got a QD full Ti zorst, power comander (now dynoed at 170 at the wheel) plus some other goodies like AM levers and rear sets. I've come from litre Jap bikes and am loving and learning to ride a sports twin. I love the look of the bike and the fact that there are very few around.

Anyway the only thing I don't like is the twitchy throttle. It's not confidence inspiring in certain situations and def a pain around town. Soooo, I've rwad about the progressive throttle mod and wanted to order the part. Problem is that I've found this:
http://www.ktm-parts.com/69002021100.html

and this:

http://www.pureperformancecycles.com...erDuke-690-990

So what's the difference here and what should I be getting?

Thanks in advance guys!!

I got a new 09 rc8 about a month back im 300 miles in. I like the bike but for toddling about into town which I hate anyways! it was hard work.

Fitted the rc8r throttle cam & 16 T sprocket.

Much better.. I could live with the bike like this, but I will fit a PCV to see how good I can get it.

The 1 tooth drop realy does make a differance on slow turns, you can get away with, give or take no clutch slip.

I'm nearly done with the RC8 niggles, but i'v felt what it can do allready with a few 9degree c days last month

I can't think of another bike I want at the moment, great value.

Thaks for the responses

Still confused about the difference between the 2 kits. Are they the same thing with one being aftermarket and one being OEM? Or are they two different things?

One is aftermarket and aluminium and the genuine is plastic. Both are modified cams to slow down the low end throttle opening.

i have a quick turn throttle on mine and can't figure for the life of me why you'd ever want to make the throttle longer. i put heavier return springs at the throttle bodies because the pull on the stock throttle was WAY too light.
