Default Enduro 690 r tank bolt

Brand new 2010 0 miles.

And here I am complaining already right.

I picked it up yesterday and was setting it up today. After a few trips to youtube I discovered how to remove the shock for preload adjustment.

The lower left side tank bolt won't come out though. The excessive loctite has a death grip on the threaded insert in the tank and is spinning. I only allowed it to spin for a few rotations before I realized what was happening. Figured I'd just leave it before it bores out the plastic.
Maybe an impact wrench might shock it loose??
Dealer warranty? The warranty doesn't include that does it?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Call the dealer you bought it from and have them fix it. I would not see why they wouldn't just do it. Good customer service - hopefully they take care of it! You could try and impact but be careful, might be too powerful.

The dealer is 300 miles away. I'm going to contact another dealer nearby but they deal with offroad only. "Shouldn't" be an issue but being new to KTM I'm unfamiliar with the dealer network.

The bolt and nut just spin inside of the subframe so torque isn't going to be a snapping issue. Figure the impact might have a "snapping" effect that might break the loctite loose.
Now that I've had some time to hash things out I'm pretty sure that I should just bring it to the dealer just in case the tank needs repair or replacement.
Thanks for the reply.

Made a phone call and got straightened out on the lower mounts.

It's a free floating rod that goes through the tank that's threaded on the inside. Not the most desireable of setups because it's allowed to spin inside and being loctited that's what was going on.
I put the 1/4" impact on it and worked the thread lock loose. The bolts come right in and out now. I'll get a couple of stainless lock washers to ensure they don't back out.

Problem solved, thanks for looking.

Glad you sorted it out.

Those issues on new bikes are always a let down.

Me too.

I ordered the Rally Raid aftermarket mounting hardware yesterday though so I get to take it apart again. Yay.

I hear ya...I've order the rally raid stuff as well.

I've ordered the top bolts for strength, and the lower bolts for the one peice action...so as to prevent your very issue.

CAn I ask why you were playing with it, considering you have not done any miles yet?

The weather was just horrible for the first month I owned the bike so I went right through it and did all of the little mods the model requires and was setting up the suspension sag. Requires the shock to be taken out.
