Default Clutch

I need help with a clutch problem on my 00 LC4. I fitted a new KTM clutch The plates are seperating when lever is pulled in but when cover replaced Trying to get gear with lever pulled in results in the bike jerking and stalling and wont go into gear. I stripped clutch again Checked plates in right order lubricated and moving on the splines ok put all back together again Started up Lever in Try to select 1st gear same result Noisy gear and stall Any ideas please

It almost sounds like you have an extra plate in there causing it to burn up quicker.

I'd measure all the plates with a micrometer or verniers and check with the old worn ones., as well as checking the new width with the service tolerances.

I had worn clutch on my Xr650, I didn't have time to do it so I took it to the dealer. The dealer had to get another batch of plates because the ones they got ended up being too thick. I'm pleased that they had to do all the work again...as I would have thought I'd done something wrong.

Perhaps you have done everything right, and the plates are not good...it happens.

Well if you have not solved your clutch issue by now , make sure
that the plates have the burr side pointing towards the crankshaft.

Since the plates are stamped sheet metal, the burr occurs on one side.

This HAS to point towards the crank.
