95 LC4 620 frame

is it possible to put a later model lc4 engine such as a 625 or even 640 engine in a 95 620 frame, id appreciate the input

Short answer yes.

You would have to get the handlebar controls, and
update the wiring harness, add a battery if you wanted
to use the starter.

Does your bike have oil in the frame tube?

yes the oil does run through the frame, only reason for my thinking is some major mechanical issues have occurred with my 620 motor and im not sure what to do so hence i wondered if i could put a 640 motor in it plus i would gain the electric start

next question would it be worth it?

next question whats my bike roughly worth right now with a possible bad motor

I'd say if you part out the bike, you might net ~ $1200.

If you can find a wrecked 640e or 640 adventure, and can get the engine
and wiring harness for $1000 or less, it might be worth it. I guess the only
thing is how much is your time worth, and do you like turning wrenches.

Here is the same exact bike as mine for sale. This guy has lowered
his original price twice now. He started at $5k, then $4K, now....
It's pretty much a buyers marked.

Last thing, remember the SXC does not keep oil in the frame when you look for engines.
