Default lucky me !

as an obligation to the dirtbike club I am involved in , I must perform a "workday" ,once a year. The club is associated with Budds Creek MX , and I get to help flagging the Pro National this weekend. I couldn't ask for a better "seat" to spectate from !! When the pros roll into town, alot of the teams find a parking lot to set up, improvised pits to "build/rebuild" the bikes before they arrive @Budds for qualifying/practice. The factory KTM semi is @Lowes on US301S in Waldorf, just where I had to go yesterday for material, for a job. So I HAD to walk over and have a looky! A 250,and a 350 were being re-assembled for the event.Alessi was not available,at the time.Prolly not even in the state of Maryland yet. I only bugged the mechanics for approx.15 mins, but they were friendly, and informative.I wished them well, and made my exit. It was kinda neato , I always wanted to be "pro mxer", now I'm just an "old&slo mxer" ... er, I mean trail-slug... chix still dig it ,tho... The weather this weekend in Maryland is supposed to be clear, quite warm, and , of course, humid... but it beats that dang 3' of snow we had a couple/few months ago ! C'mon down for the event, support the sport we LOVE! And cheer the ORANGE bikes on !! The new 350 appears to be doing a great job! Anyone rode one yet ?

I got a chance to ride the 350 at a KTM demo day on the hangtown track and i have to say i was pretty impressed with it. I had heard all the hype and i was at the hangtown race when Alessi won on it and then i got the opportunity ride one. I ride a XC450 and i ride mostly trails( living in Nor Cal there are'nt a ton of track's but we have a few good one) so when i get the chance to ride the hangtown track i do. I went to the demo totally stoked to ride the new bikes and they did'nt let me down. I'm a pretty big guy(6'3" and 240) so i was'nt sure how the 350 would do with someone my size on it but i was really surprised. Other then the suspension being to soft it was great it had alot of power and it handeld good i was able to clear all the jumps pretty easily i think i would be a beast out on the trails it is prety light and you don't sacrafice that much power compared to the 450 if i was a little smaller i would definatley try to get one. Hope you had a gooday at the race the Budds Creek track looks like a lot of fun i would love to ride it someday

Default having Budds so close ,is a blessing !

The club I ride with , has a few opportunities each year to hold exclusive club rides there. The track is primo ! I rode there first, in 1981 on my first MX bike,a 1980 YZ 125 G. I wish I had that bike now ! Maybe a 1/2 dozen of them ... I see KTM is coming out with a "woods" version of the 350 bike. That displacement is in the ballpark for many riders. The bike will do well. Most KTMs do ! They are well engineered bikes. Thanx for speaking up about your experience with it. Besides the one the mechanics were assembling that day in the Lowe's parking lot, I haven't seen any more in person. Maybe soon ...
