Hard to put in neutral 500 EXC-F 2017

Hi,

Just got a brand new 500 EXC-F 2017. I find it difficult near impossible to put it in neutral. The lever is under a certain pressure in first gear (more than normal almost stuck) that when i try to put it in neutral will jump straight in second gear. No matter how gentle I try to move it up, impossible. Same from the second goes straight into first without even a chance to stop in neutral. I drive bikes since long time ago and never encountered such an isssue.

Anybody else had the same problem? Do you think after certain brake in period will get better and correct this issue by itself or should I bring it back to the dealer for an inspection..

It maybe a break in issue, or possibly the idle is too high.

How long is your warranty for?

My 2017 350EXC-F is a little harder than normal to get into neutral but I can usually get it if I'm still rolling. Also when I first start up the bike it lunges forward when I click it into 1st gear to load it into the truck, like the clutch plates are stuck together, but it doesn't do that once it's warm. Has 6 hours on it hasn't got any better. First time I've ever had a hydraulic clutch. I've always heard people say how sweet they are, but I actually prefer the cable clutches on my CRFs because they have a longer friction point and are easier to control, and they aren't any harder to pull in.

Warranty is 6 months

The idle seems fine..

The mechanic from dealer says it's normal... When roll it is supposed to be better, especially from second to neutral.. I got it once out of about 50 so not sure how easy that can be. Anyway, the bike has only one hour on it and changed the first oil. Maybe that will help..

When engine is off it's very easy to put it in neutral. However not when engine is running.

Might just have a little clutch drag, have you tried to pluck the throttle a little as your going for neutral?
