Default 300 KTM EXC are they good?

I just bought a 1995 KTM 300 EXC that is almost in new condition. The kid I got it from said that it "bit" him and he quit riding it years ago. I am new to dirt biking. Are KTM's good? This thing has a FMF Fatty and Turbine Core exhaust. Any comments about these bikes would be great. Thanks.

Short version KTM are as good as they were maintained, or abused (like the other bikes too).

When they are well taken care of, there is no better bike.

Refresh my memory, is yours a 2smoker or a thumper?

It is a 2 stroke. Everyone I have talked to say that KTM are good if well taken care of. This bike was well taken care of. I am looking forwared to riding when this damn snow melts.

And and at least with a 2T you don't have to do the PITA valve adjustments!
