KTM 250sx issues

hi all im new to the site and new to ktm , i got a 96 or 98 ktm 250 sx the other day , im just having a few issues with it , its being a pain in the neck to fire up and it would not hold an idle ( got the idle fixed the pilot jet was plugged ) but even after that its a pain to start , its got a new plug in it , fresh gas with 40to1 mix with klots oil , once its started it runs great its just getting it started ( wen it warmed up it will fire up 1st kick ) as far as i know the only mod is a fmf gold series fatty pipe , anyone got any tips for getting this bike started easier , fresh rebuild also , any help is a plus thanks

aslo i noticed the boot that conects the reed cage to the carb has a few nice size cracks in it ( need to know the exact name of that part so i can buy one ) and would that be ab issue with my hard starting ?

Yes vacuum leaks would cause MAJOR hard starting, and cause engine
damage because you might be sucking dirt/sand into the cylinder.

thats the part i need , thank you it is much apreciated , also thanks to who ever moved the original post ( wasnt quite sure ware to put it lol ) so replacing that intake boot should help me out getting my bike started ? its deffinatly got quite a few cracks in it , other than that the bike 100% feels fine once its up and running ( if im able to get it up and running lol ) plenty of power up top and down low so i was deffinatly thinking it was a simple issue , has way to much power for there to be something seriously wrong with it , also i noticed wen i had the carb out un cloging the pilot jet that the main jet is a 175 or 179 i cant remember ( does that sound right ? )

DO NOT run your bike in any off road (dust/sand) areas until you get
that boot replaced.
