Default Clutch Problem 200 exc please help the new guy

I did a little searching and had no luck.

I am sure the search Nazi's will post me a link (which would be great if someone can)

I have a 98 ktm 200 exc and the guy told me the clutch was bad, so I ordered a new clutch and heavy duty springs.

The guy said the reason the old clutch went out was a seal went out somewhere right near the front of the front sprocket, he is a buddy, and I know he doesn't always know what he is talking about so I don't know if there is truth behind it.

Anyone know what he is talking about? and if so what part I need to order so when I replace the clutch this wont happen again

or should I just replace it and see how it goes?

He pointed at where the red circle is and then here is a pic of my older bike:

Firstly if that bike is a 98 200 exc, then it has a hydraulic clutch.

I would not change any clutch components until you at least
make sure you have fluid in the clutch master cylinder.

If there is, but there is a leak where your red circle is, that's the slave
cylinder, and that would cause your clutch to no engage.

I always start with the cheapest easiest things to troubleshoot, then
work your way up.

Is there fluid, is there a leak, where is the leak?

If you're new to the world of working on hydraulic clutches... WELCOME! hah.. Go ahead and invest in a Mighty Vac.. They're not too expensive and they work great for bleeding the air out of the lines

I opened the resivoir and it didn't have much fluid at all. I am going to get a mighty vac or a bleeder and see if it just needs fluid.

It was damp around the slave cylinder when I added fluid, but I could not see where it was coming out.

I also loosened the bleed valve to see if I could get anything to happen, so that leaking could have been from that, or just from the slave itself, will try and troubleshoot better once I get a bleeder to help.
