New rider needs help

Hey guys,
I know that you've probably seen this a billion times before but here it is again.

I'm 17 and would like to get into riding dirtbikes, as i've ridden atv's most of my life. I'm ridden dirtbikes before, so I would say that i'm between beginer and intermediate.

I was looking to get either a 250 4-stroke or a 125/150 2-stroke. I'm 5'10, 135lbs. I do mostly trail riding but I want to do the occasional jumps when I can.

What are your recomendations?

Price, weight, maintenance go for a two stroke. Ever adjusted 4 stroke valves?
