05-07 85sx cylinder Question???
Just bought my boy a 05 85SX, with a boogered up cylinder. I ground ALOT of the exhaust port off on the Top because of damage caused by the ring. I got the bike running with a new piston and the above modded port. I was Amazed to find It still had Great low end grunt. The power valve's sure do work Nice on these little engine's. After some looking around I found a Brand new 07 85SX cylinder for a fair price. I noticed the aftermarket piston's are the same from 03-09 (Pro-X). The cylinder's have a different part number, as does the stock KTM piston. The stroke Is the same, so are all the power valve parts according to KTM's micro fishe. Has anyone ever ran the 07 cylinder on the older bottom end??? Thanks for any help. I'm kinda hoping KTM just did some changing to the port timing to make the engine perform better?
