Clutch noise 05' 450 EXC

When the clutch is out and motor at idle it sounds like an old panhead. Noise is gone when I pull it in. Any ideas?

That's the way my '03 was.

Have you found any metal (not just little flake) in
your oil?

Did this just start?

The drain plug and oil looked good. KTM.Talk members said they all do that. More so with the skid-plate installed.

Yep. It's true. If you are used to a 2 smoker, a thumper is a noisy beast.

Had a XT500 back in 81' and can't remember what it sounded like. My DR350 did not have the noise either. Sounds really strange.

I think most of the newer overhead cam bikes (KTM included) have
gotten quieter.
